Two weeks free, then a membership priced so that it is not the thing standing between you and a marriage.
Matrimony for the people. It is in our name, and it is the whole reason this site works the way it does: we do not accept that finding a life partner should take the investment of large sums of money.
The way this market usually works, the looking is cheap and everything that makes the looking useful is not. You build a profile for nothing. You are shown matches for nothing. Then the moment you want to say something to one of them, you meet a price set for people who have room in the month's budget for it. Families who do not have that room end up looking through a window at a marketplace they cannot enter — not because they are not serious, and not because they would not make somebody a very good match, but because of what is in the account that month.
We think that is unfair, and we think it quietly decides who gets introduced to whom. So we have done two things about it.
First, the price
A LogShaadi membership costs a small fraction of the usual subscription for a site like this one. Not a discount, not an introductory rate that climbs once you are attached to your conversations — just a lower price, arrived at by asking what an ordinary family can pay without thinking twice about it, rather than what the market will bear.
Second, the free fortnight
Every new account gets 14 days of full membership, free, starting the day you join. Not a crippled demo: the real thing, messages included. Look around, see who is actually here, write to a few people, and work out whether this site is any use to you before anybody asks you for money. We would rather you decided with the site in front of you than on the strength of a page like this one.
What you get, and what you keep
14 days free, no card
The free fortnight starts when you register. We do not ask for a card to begin it, and there is nothing to cancel — so it cannot quietly turn into a subscription while you are not looking.
Looking is always free
Search, profiles, matches, your shortlist and your inbox stay open whether or not you are paying. If your membership lapses you keep every bit of that. The one thing that stops is sending new messages.
One price, no tiers
No premium shelf. No paid boost that pushes your profile above someone who paid less. No Featured badge for sale. Everybody here stands on the same footing.
The price itself
We are settling the exact figure now, and we would rather leave this blank for a few days than print a number we then have to change. Register anyway — your free 14 days start immediately, and you will know the price well before it matters.
Payment is by PayPal to begin with. Other ways to pay are coming; PayPal is simply the one we have finished and tested, and one method that works beats four that half-work.
