Staying safe
What we do, and what only you can do.
What the site does
- Your phone number is never displayed. It is released only to members you approve, one at a time.
- Your photos are visible to signed-in members by default, and never to anyone who is not signed in. Set them to approve-only, or to Accepted Members only, from your profile whenever you want.
- Nobody can message you until you accept their Interest.
- Camera metadata is stripped from every photo you upload, including location.
- Profiles are visible to signed-in members only, and are never indexed by search engines.
- Blocking someone closes any connection between you and hides your profile from them.
What only you can do
Never send money. Not for a plane ticket, not for a visa, not for a medical emergency, not to prove good faith. This is the single most common way people are defrauded on matrimonial sites, and the stories are always urgent and always plausible.
Be slow with documents. Passport pages, bank statements and identity documents are worth more to a fraudster than they are to a genuine match. A real family will wait.
Move carefully off-site. Someone pressing hard to move straight to another app, early, is a pattern worth noticing.
Meet in public, and tell someone. For a first meeting, somewhere public, and tell a family member or friend where you are going and when to expect you back.
Warning signs
- A profile with no photos that will not share any, combined with a hurry to get personal.
- Someone working abroad, on an oil rig, in the military overseas — followed by a problem only money solves.
- Refusing a video call, with a new reason each time.
- Declared love within days.
- Pressure not to tell your family.
Reporting
Block any member from their profile page. If something looks like a scam rather than a bad match, tell us — it usually affects more than one person.
