What LogShaadi stores, and who can reach it.
What a profile holds
Name, date of birth, height, marital status, religion, mother tongue, community, diet and habits, location and residency, education and profession, income band, family details, what you write about yourself, and — kept apart from all of it — your phone number.
Community, income and horoscope details are optional. A blank field is never treated as a mismatch when other members search.
Photos and phone numbers
Each is released under the rule you choose: to any member, or only to members whose Interest you accepted, or only when you approve an individual request.
The defaults differ. Photos default to any member — a signed-in member can see your pictures without asking. Your phone number defaults to only when you approve a request, and is never part of your profile. Change either at any time from your profile; a change takes effect immediately and applies to everyone, including members who could see your photos a moment ago.
"Any member" means a signed-in member. Photos are never served to a signed-out visitor, never indexed by a search engine, and never shown to someone you have blocked, whatever this is set to.
Photos are re-encoded when you upload them, which discards the camera metadata embedded in the file — the location a phone records included.
Under Who I gave access to you can see everyone currently holding either, and take it back.
Who can see your profile
Signed-in members only. Every profile page is marked noindex and does not appear in search engines. Hiding your profile removes it from search and matches entirely.
What we record
Who viewed your profile, at most once an hour per person, so the "who looked at you" list is not a flood. Interests, requests and messages, so the inbox works. Nothing is sold, there is no advertising, and no third-party trackers are loaded.
Deleting
Deleting your account removes your profile, your photos from disk, your messages, your Interests and your requests.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information LogShaadi (“LogShaadi,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use logshaadi.com (the “Service”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. LogShaadi is a matrimonial service that helps adults (and their families) find a marriage partner.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Profile information: who the profile is for, gender, date of birth, height, marital status and children, religion, community and sub-community, mother tongue, horoscope details (manglik status, rashi, nakshatra, birth time and place), diet and habits, country, state, city, citizenship and residency, education, college, profession and income band, family details, what you write about yourself and your family, and your partner preferences. Community, income and horoscope details are optional. Some of these details (such as religion or community) are sensitive; you choose whether to provide them, and they are shown only to signed-in members as part of your profile.
- Phone number: kept apart from your profile and shown only to members whose request you approve, and only while you allow it.
- Photos: the photos you upload. They are re-encoded on upload, which removes the camera metadata (including location) stored in the file, and shown only under the visibility rule you choose.
- Activity: Interests and photo or phone requests you send and receive, the members you accept, block or shortlist, messages and drafts, notifications, and which members viewed your profile (recorded at most once an hour per member).
- Membership and payments: your free-trial dates, the period you have paid for, and a record of each payment attempt. Payments are processed by PayPal; we never see or store your card or bank details.
- Messages to us: what you send through the contact form.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, kept in server logs for security, fraud and scam prevention.
We collect this information when you give it to us, when you use the Service, and from the services you choose to connect (such as a sign-in provider).
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain and improve the Service and the features you ask for.
- To create and secure your account, including sign-in protection and fraud, spam and abuse prevention.
- To send you messages you request or that are needed to run the Service (for example verification codes, receipts, notices and replies to your questions).
- To keep the Service secure and working, using our own server logs.
- To enforce our Terms and to comply with law and legal process.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. How we share information
We share information only as described here:
- Hosting: our web host (Bluehost), which stores the Service's data on our behalf.
- Email delivery: our hosting provider's mail servers, to send the emails described above.
- PayPal, to process membership payments.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect someone's safety or rights, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
- Business transfers: if the Service is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.
Our service providers may use the information only to perform services for us.
Information you choose to make public on the Service (for example a published profile or listing) can be seen by other users and, where noted, by anyone on the internet.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only the cookies and browser storage that the Service needs to work, such as keeping you signed in, protecting forms and letting the app work offline. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and no third-party trackers are loaded. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you will not be able to sign in without them. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires it.
5. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your information, we delete or de-identify it within a reasonable time, except where we must keep it longer for legal, tax, security or dispute-resolution reasons. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and limits on sign-in attempts. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can review and update much of your information in your account settings.
- You can ask us to access, correct, download or delete your personal information by emailing info@logshaadi.com. We may need to verify your identity first.
- You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in the email or your settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example California, New Jersey, Virginia, Colorado or Connecticut), you may have additional rights, including the right to know what we collect, to correct or delete it, to opt out of sale or targeted advertising (which we do not do), and to appeal a decision about your request. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
8. Children
The Service is only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us at info@logshaadi.com and we will delete it.
9. Where information is processed
The Service is operated from the United States and information is stored in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, give notice on the Service or by email.
